Nepal Medicine Quest

It is by going down into the abyss that we recover the treasures of life. Where you stumble, there lies your treasure.

It would take hours to describe what we’ve been through in Nepal. But what matters is mostly how I felt during and after. So let me give you four words that best sum it up: love, magic, force and compassion.  These kinds of experiences take courage and when it was over I felt braver than I’d ever felt in my whole life. Definitely life changing.

This is the most amazing thing in the world. I’ve felt so brave and happy since the retreat, I could not thank you more!

This Nepalese retreat, on this hill, in this valley of such beauty that you could lose your mind, will remain one of the most incredible and intense experiences of my life - out of time, out of all that is normal, surrounded by love, community, sharing without taboos, without restraint with so much delicacy, intensity, truth and magic... I laughed so much, cried so much, felt so much each moment.

In the early hours of the morning of April 10th 2019, three buses will leave a predetermined location somewhere in Kathmandu destined for the foothills of the Himalayas some 35 km out of town.

The last two hours of the journey will be completed on foot, through rice fields and farms until you arrive at the camp which will be your home for the next ten days.  Even though the location is remote there will be kitchen facilities, a dining tent, storage space, toilets and a large ceremonial shelter where you will sleep and participate in all rituals, open to the sky in the middle with a roaring fire below.

The eleven strong team are diversely talented and more than able to take care of your every need and concern - skilled medicine men, ritualists, ceremonialists, tent makers, fire keepers, therapists, healers, musicians and singers, between us we have years and years of experience of holding space and guiding inner exploration.

On the evening of Day 2 we will hold the first medicine ceremony which will last about five hours.  In the mornings after each ritual we will hold talking circles where each of the 22 participants will have a chance to share their experience.  The rest of the days are spent relaxing and choosing your Vision Quest spots.  The crew are available 24 hours a day to help you with anything practical or psychological.

After lunch on Day 5 you will go alone to your Vision Quest spot on the hillside amongst the trees overlooking the Annapurna Range.  There you will fast and digest your medicine experience for the next four days until you are once again collected by the team.

Once back at camp you will break your fast and have time both in the group and one to one to share your experiences.

The following morning we will walk back through the valley to a local hotel which is reserved exclusively for our party where we will spend one night sleeping in real beds with hot showers before being returned to Kathmandu after lunch on the 11th day.
